More and more scientific evidence points toward the fact that cow’s milk is only good for calves. Humans are the only species on Earth that drinks milk past infancy and from another species. Dairy products are not necessary in a healthy, balanced diet so to ingest products that sicken many people, exploit and kill billions of cows and their calves every year and cause environmental degradation is simply put, dishonoring to God.

The most INCONVENIENT TRUTH!


Milk approved by the USDA meets allowable somatic cell counts (essentially an allowable level of blood & pus that determines the quality of the milk), so yes there is blood & pus in milk.

BACTERIA

Cow's milk is allowed to have feces in it. This is a major source for bacteria. Milk is typically pasteurized more than once before it gets to your table... each time for only 15 seconds at 162 degrees Fahrenheit.

To sanitize water one is told to boil it (212 degrees F) for several minutes. That is a tremendous disparity, isn't it!

Keep in mind that at room temperature the number of bacteria in milk DOUBLE around every 20 minutes. No wonder milk turns rotten very quickly.

PUS

ONE cubic centimeter (cc) of commercial cow's milk is allowed to have up to 750,000 somatic cells (common name is "PUS") and 20,000 live bacteria... before it is kept off the market.

That amounts to a whopping 20 million live squiggly bacteria and up to 750 MILLION pus cells per liter (bit more than a quart).

1 cup = 236.5882cc 177,441,150 pus cells ~ 4,731,600 bacteria
24 oz (3 glasses) = 532,323,450 pus cells ~ 14,220,000 bacteria
(the "recommended" daily intake)

The EU and the Canadians allow for a less "tasty" 400,000,000 pus cells per liter.

Typically these levels are lower... but they COULD reach these levels and still get to YOUR table.

Milk creates allergies:

Cow’s milk allergies create problems in the respiratory and/or digestive tracts with symptoms like post-nasal drip, sinusitis, excess secretion of mucous, catarrh, asthma, eczema, hayfever, vomiting, bronchitis, urticaria, sleeplessness, headaches, pimples, oedema (water retention), gas, constipation, diarrhoea, spastic colon, abdominal pain, and persistent colic. The allergies are caused by casein and beta lactoglobulin.

When dairy products are removed from the diet, the problems often clear up completely.


Cow's Milk is difficult to digest:

Cow’s milk curds are dense and difficult to digest. Low-fat and skimmed milk’s protein content is even higher, and has been shown to produce a higher calcium loss through the urinary tract.

After age 3 (when we are weaned) we do not secrete the enzyme rennin that breaks down milk protein, nor the enzyme lactase to digest lactose (milk sugar) and transform it to sugars that our body can use (glucose and galactose). Mature animals' and humans' bodies are not geared to drink milk.

P. 6, In an in-depth laboratory program investigating the role of nutrition, especially protein, in the development of cancer:

What we found was shocking. Low-protein diets inhibited the initiation of cancer by aflatoxin, regardless of how much this carcinogen was administered to these animals. After cancer initiation was completed, low-protein diets also dramatically blocked subsequent cancer growth. In other words, the cancer-producing effects of this highly carcinogenic chemical were rendered insignificant by a low-protein diet. In fact, dietary protein proved to be so powerful in its effect that we could turn on and turn off cancer growth by changing the level consumed.

Furthermore, the amounts of protein being fed were those that we humans routinely consume. We didn't use extraordinary levels, as is so often the case in carcinogen studies.

But that's not all. We found that not all proteins had this effect. What protein consistently and strongly promoted cancer? Casein, which makes up 87% of cow's milk protein, promoted all stages of the cancer process. What type of protein did not promote cancer, even at high levels of intake? The safe proteins were from plants, including wheat and soy.

Americans consume more cow's milk and its products per person than most populations in the world. So Americans should have wonderfully strong bones, right? Unfortunately not. A recent study showed that American women aged fifty and older have one of the highest rates of hip fractures in the world. The only countries with higher rates are in Europe and the south Pacific (Australia and New Zealand) where they consume even more milk than the United States.

Researchers at Harvard, Yale, Penn State, and the National Institutes of Health have studied the effects of dairy intake on bones. Not one of these studies found dairy to be a deterrent to osteoporosis. On the contrary, a study funded by the National Dairy Council itself revealed that the high protein content of dairy actually leaches calcium from the body. After looking at thirty-four published studies in sixteen countries, researchers at Yale University found that the countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis --- including the United States, Sweden, and Finland --- were those in which people consumed the most meat, milk, and other animal foods.

Hormones in milk can be dangerous



Did you know that the Harvard Nurses Health Study of 57,000 women showed that those who consumed the most calcium from dairy products had almost double the hip fracture rate of those who ate the least... Those findings are consistent with world health literature showing that osteoporosis rates are highest in the countries with the highest dairy consumption: Scandinavian countries, Holland, Great Britain, U.S.A., and Canada. Countries with historically low dairy consumption, like China and Japan, have had very low hip fracture rates, but they've begun eating more like Americans, and osteoporosis rates are now climbing.
